You are using an outdated browser

Enough is enough. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 was released in late 2009. For its time, it was a decent browser.
As any web developer will tell you, working with IE 8 is one of the most difficult and frustrating things they have to deal with on a daily basis taking up a disproportionate amount of their time.
Beyond that, IE 8's support for modern web standards is very lacking, restricting what developers can create and holding the web back.

This website is run by a group of people who want to see IE 8 disappear as soon as possible. To help make that happen, we are encouraging the IE 8 users of our websites to upgrade to a more modern browser, so they can have a better experience using our sites and browsing the web.

Why and What Now?

Checking the stats for our client's websites for last couple of months revealed that less than 1% of visitors are using Internet Explorer 8.
This means we can now officially drop support for this outdated browser. Now that we have reached the vaunted 1%, and with newer browsers continuing to improve rendering consistency and support for standards based techniques, continuing to support an aged browser simply doesn't make sense.

We have come to this decision with hesitation, and also relief. We hesitate because we pride ourselves on designing websites with accessibility and usability in mind. Dropping support for any percentage of users doesn't jibe with those ideals. We have continued on in this decision because we are confident that we can encourage our visitors to upgrade their web browsers and make the Internet a better place. Freedom and relief are what we feel when we realize that we will not have to spend countless future hours (at least when working on this site) on supporting a browser that doesn't support us.
